Training Area 5

This is nothing but a large circular room of limestone. On the sides of the room there are 2 doors that apparently lead to smaller storage rooms. The room as no ceiling and is lit by natural sunlight.

Tarining Area 5 history 1

Aj'ale entered and didn't look too receptive at the sunlight all over the place. "Thought so, an empty area." Aj'ale went and got a bucketful of water from somewhere in order to start the training.

Al'tul finally made his way to the training area designated for peer to peer learning. With something of interest in the bucket of water that Aj'ale was gathering, Al'tul followed the Dah'kin around the area with his eyes. "Does the air not have water within?" he thought aloud, then took a gander at the sunlight with disdain. "All elements represented." he mocked, then looked ahead at Aj'ale and asked, "When do we begin?"

Aj'ale plopped the bucket of water in front of Al'tul. "Right now." He then sat opposite to the corrupted Terran, just conveniently in the shadow of the walls. "The water has air, but we're not exactly at the level of that kind of control yet." He paused for a moment. "So! You have a bucket of water there. Now focus your mind on something other than the ground you're standing on. I want your mind to swim in that bucket and play like an overenthusiastic fish."

"My antlers prevent me from doing that." Al'tul said, thinking a bit too literally at first. It was in uncharacteristic jesting, as a moment later he placed his hands together, closed his eyes, and tried to imagine he was a fish swimming through water. The fish had hooves and antlers, but was swimming.

"Fishy." Aj'ale leaned on the wall, waited a few minutes and continued talking: "It's not enough that your mind is swimming. You have to totally control the water around you, and hopefully the bucketful is a small enough body for you to control that well enough." He paused for a moment. "Now, be the bucketful of water." Aj'ale imagined a bucket with Al'tul's face painted on it and would've grinned if he could.

"Your teaching method has holes." Al'tul grimaced, particularly with Aj'ale's roundabout way of saying 'be the bucket'. Still, learning blue magic was his goal and imagining himself as a container of water was good enough to explain how it would work. The terran imagined controlling the barrier of water and keeping it in place, and used what he knew of magic to try and control the water in the bucket the same way.

"What method doesn't have? Magic is a very abstract concept, and color magic is even harder because you don't exactly call out to a god who just decides whether or not you should be given access to the spell. With color magic you actually have to do something yourself." Aj'ale was obviously satisfied with his insights, since it was true that he knew more about the differences between color and non-color magic. He tried to detect magic on Al'tul since he seemed too distracted by Aj'ale's speaking than he thought the Terran would be, and detected just more green magic, though there was some emerging blue in it. "Egads, are you really trying to be the bucket now? I said the bucketful of water, not the bucket." Aj'ale used his newly acquired blue magic to remove a handful of water from the bucket and splash it on himself.

Al'tul raised an eyebrow, thinking that Aj'ale did need a bath but did not expect him to take one during training. "Very well." Al'tul replied, then dipped his stony hands into the bucket. Once thoroughly wetted, Al'tul lifted his hands and then slung the water at his face in droplets. Since the corrupted Terran did not get the full blast of bug juices, he did not need a bath as greatly. However, Aj'ale's use of water would increase the concentration of thinking about water. "Water in the bucket." Al'tul mumbled, then attempted once again but this time thought about water in control rather than trying to control the water. It would be a little different than green magic, after all.

Aj'ale eyed the Terran suspiciously. "So much for abstract mind exercises, but if direct physical contact helps you..." He eyed Al'tul's progress for a few moments and then went on: "When you get around it, you should be able to move the water as if it were an extension of you, for example. Like this." Once again, Aj'ale used his magic to pick up a little ball of water from the bucket. He pointed at it with his finger as it moved towards him, and he thought he wanted to drink it, but decided not to do that since Al'tul had just put his hands in the water. Therefore, he just slowly moved it on his head and let it plop down.

"Indeed. Time to test control of the water." Al'tul replied, then attempted to make a ball of the water from the bucket so that it could be moved.

Aj'ale followed with interest as the Terran started meddling with the water. Detecting the magical currents in the bucket, Aja'le felt the water moving around a bit and then saw as it reshaped as if somebody was pulling on it. However, only a tiny ball of water of a diameter of 2 cm emerged from the bucket. Aj'ale's face twitched a little, but he had no expression and didn't say anything.

For his first attempt, 2cm was impressive. Al'tul then released the ball back into the bucket as a single raindrop and attempted again. This time he wanted to recreate what Aj'ale had done by dropping the ball of water on his head.

Aj'ale stared as Al'tul played around with the water. He managed to emerge a slightly bigger ball, but not as big as Aj'ale's. In the meantime, the dah'kin was getting hot and decided to remove his torn robe, clearly revealing his fairly liberal attire. Now he'd see whether the Terran could keep his concentration.

It was a good thing that Al'tul was a mess of hormonal imbalance and mutated labido, otherwise Aj'ale's near nudeness might have disgusted him. However, Al'tul kept attempting to recreate a ball of water the size that Aj'ale had created. This was training after all, not something that can be done instantly. The mountain never grows all at once, but a pebble at a time.

Aj'ale watched as Al'tul assembled the wobbly ball of water one tiny ball at a time. "Hey, that one's getting good. Now, you should be able to move it around and reshape it." In the meantime, Aj'ale flung one water droplet at a time from the bucket into the air and let them fall randomly, like rain of sorts.

Al'tul started with small motions at first, taking into account that water was a mass of droplets and not one solid shape. He hoped to be able to move it around and shape it into simple objects at first, nothing too complex for his first attempt. An oval should be easy enough to start with, he thought.

Al'tul made simple and recognizable but wobbly shapes out of the mass of water. Aj'ale watched and eventually said: "Ah, there, it seems we have a connection." He then snatched the mass of water with his own magic and started running off with it (not stepping into the sun, however). "Catch!"

"Catch?" Al'tul asked, sure that Aj'ale had not thrown the watery mass he had created. Still the Terran was obliged to follow, and flung his own wobbly mass of water at himself in order to focus his concentration on Aj'ale's new water ball. Al'tul needed a slight rinsing, even though he was not quite as close to the exhorian as the others were.

Aj'ale ran to the edge of the shadow when he noticed something nudging on his little ball of water. He held on to the ball, but eventually it went into the form of a peanut and was then halved. "Hey! You halved it!" Having said that, Aj'ale felt a bit mischievous and flung his half of the ball at Al'tul.

Al'tul attempted to catch Aj'ale's water ball and throw his own as a test to see just how far he had come during the training. The terran was a bit draw to his new talents, and a small smile crept on his face when he threw his water ball.

Al'tul caught Aj'ale's water ball easily. When he threw the other one at the dah'kin, Aj'ale failed to catch it with his powers and had to settle for side-stepping the water. "Well, it seems you finally learned something."

Al'tul learned Level 1 Blue Magic!

"Let's get to the spell then." Aj'ale went to the water bucket. "It's Frost beam, so we'll concentrate on cold water, or ice. It's pretty simple, just try to still that water so that it gets cold."

Al'tul stretched, and then maintained a Blue Magic posture. Thinking that ice was nothing more than solid water, his green magic skills should help to solidify it. Releasing the heat, slowing the energy, and therefor freezing the water in the bucket to a block of ice was in theory of his mind, rather easy. Al'tul attempted this very thing, remembering all he learned about blue magic.

Aj'ale followed Al'tul's progress in cooling the water. After some time, as the first sheets of ice started appearing on the surface, he said: "Alright, that's enough, obviously you can do it. But the trick is to do it from afar and target specific objects." The dah'kin then poked broken the sheet of ice, lifted two balls of water from the bucket and stood up. He took a few steps back toward the wall, saying: "Go about 8 meters away from me and try to freeze this water ball on my right hand."

Al'tul proceeded as instructed, and paced backwards until eight meters away from Aj'ale. Noting that he could freeze the ball of water, all Al'tul now had to do was project that freeze at range. With concentrated effort, Al'tul reached forward, and tried to cause the water in Aj'ale's right hand to freeze.

Observing Al'tul's efforts, Aj'ale watched while the ball of water slowly turned into ice. The dah'kin sent the ice ball into the wall by flicking his fingers and spoke: "Now, do the same to this other one, but very rapidly and focusedly." He lowered his right hand and kept the left one up, holding the ball of water some distance above his hand. Aj'ale seemed to get ready for something to happen.

Al'tul was confident now, and placed all his effort into freezing the last ball of water to the point that it would become a frost bolt instantly and fly away from Aj'ale's left hand.

Seeing that the spellcasting was about to work, Aj'ale quickly withdrew his hand in order to not get it frozen along with the little ball of water. However, the spell fizzled a bit and the waterball splatted on the ground. Aj'ale stared at the wet spot for a moment. "Hm, I thought that was going to work. Well, let's try again." Aj'ale retrieved a slightly bigger ball of water and held it as before.

"Bigger will be more difficult to freeze." Al'tul thought aloud, this time fine tuning his movements to use them efficiently rather than at full blast. The terran focused again on the water ball above Aj'ale's left hand and let loose a freezing wave to make it into a frost bolt.

"Bigger is easier to hit and concentrate on." This time Aj'ale didn't withdraw his hand, though he seemed to be about to. Al'tul finally managed to freeze the water, but only barely. "Hmm, cold water." Aj'ale stuck his face in the mass of water that had an icy shell and seemed satisfied. "Well, it can only get easier after that."

Al'tul learned Frost Beam!

Al'tul nodded, then stretched. "Time to proceed to the temple, now that our bargain is complete." he said, taking a short bow to Aj'ale before exiting to the Lemirian Colosseum. The terran would no doubt seek out Aj'ale later in the future, but for now it was time for rest and healing.

Aj'ale left as well, in search for Zahra.

Tylien entered and waited for Al'tul while cuddling with its egg. Having sat for a while, it decided it was time to practice some spellcasting. Tylien put the egg down and started combining the spells it knew, casting Heat beam and Lightning touch simultaneously in a series of gestures that almost made it fall over on its fingers.

Tylien learned Laser Beam!

Feeling satisfied, Tylien moved on to casting Flash and Screech.

Tylien learned Sunlight!

Tylien thought that was enough and returned to be with the egg, drawing patterns on it with its finger.

Aiden walked into the arena and too a deep whiff of the brisk air before searching around the area and seeing the, well, he presumed it to be a hauken, sitting off with and egg, running...its finger over the egg's shell. Ignoring the Hauken for now, he turned and waited for Miniel to enter the area.

Miniel entered the training area, and talked to Aiden "Well, I'm here! Let's start!"

"Alright, here's for an easy start. Sit down," Aiden said as he, himself took a seat, sitting indian-style on the dirt.

Miniel smiled to Aiden, and did also take a seat near him. She was very excited about learning another kind of magic, so, she was really looking forward to start with the lesson.

Closing his eyes, Aiden took in a deep breath and slowly exhaled, "Focus your mind on your natural surroundings right now, especially the sand and dirt that you're sitting on. Your source of green magic will generally be drawn directly from the earth, so get used to its natural feeling. Feel the grains of sand as the run through your fingers," He said as he picked up a small palm full of dirt and sifted it to his fingers to drain through.

Tylien glanced up at Aiden and then Miniel, but didn't say anything as they just seemed to have come there to train. It continued cuddling its egg.

Miniel closed her eyes and began to concentrate in her surroundings as Aiden told her. Since she lived more than 14 years in the forest it wasn't hard for her to feel the energy of the nature that surrounded her. She also took some dirt, and began to play with it, feeling it.

"Good, you feel natures energy running through you? We're going to take this simply for now. Green magic is about creation, much like how white magic focuses on replenishment, and thus it is easier to learn if you avoid destruction with it. No matter what it is in green magic, you must grow a connection with it and let it grow, wether it be vines growing from the soil, or a fine mist of noxious poisons like some of the darker users of green magic prefer," Aiden said, going on a rant in the most scholarly tone he could muster, "Now to begin your training, we'll start simple with the growth logic and have you focus on some simple weeds. Weeds have one of the more simple structures related to nature and should be easy for someone with some previous magical potential to envoke growth in. There, There's a little clover in the ground, try to focus your energy on that, envision it growing, treat it as a mother would her new born child. If you nourish nature, nature will nourish you in return."

Miniel listened carefully every word that Aiden said to her, and so, when he finished, she looked the clover he had pointed, and then closed her eyes again, putting her hands near it, and trying to give that little plant some of her energy. Then she tried to create an image of that clover in her mind, and imagine it growing, as Aiden said.

Having grown up around the forests, Miniel was familiar with nature's energy, being a quick student!
Miniel learned lvl 1 green magic!

"Good, I see the energy flowing in you now. I guess I hadn't asked, but was there a particular type of spell you wanted to learn? " Aiden asked.

"Hm.. well, I think I will choose the entangle spell" said Miniel a little bit undecided "but later you could teach me another of the ones you know... if you want, of course" said she, and smiled to Aiden so as to convince him.

Aiden smiled and winked at Miniel trying to convince him, "Only if you have something to teach me," He said, now drawing a smile across his face, "The entangle spell should be simple, based off the type of training I used to teach you green magic. Entangle is a growth-type spell, just on a much larger scale, and sometimes, you won't have an existing plant to work with, but there are always minerals underground that you can create the plant matter you need to entangle a foe. Now, with that being said, let's start with the simplest part; Try to conjure a plant form from the dirt, don't focus on any pre-existing plant, just use your mind and the resources at hand."

Miniel smiled, "Well.. I taught you everything I know, so you'll have to wait if you want me to teach you something else" said happily and laugh, then she concentrated on what he had said. She put her hands near the ground and focused her energy, trying to do as Aiden said. She realized that this was a little harder, because it was hard for her to focus on something that doesn't really exist.

Aiden smiled and crossed his arms, "you're thinking it doesn't exist, aren't you? With green magic, you can't have that mindset. It does exist, it's jus not there yet. You have to be the one to put it there."

Miniel was surprised when she heard Aiden. She smiled at him, and then tried to continue on what she was doing. She tried to think about a plant growing as Aiden told her, and also tried to be more optimist about it.

"There you are, stay focused and it will come for you," Aiden said, becoming more of a cheerleader now than a teacher, he stayed focused on his students progress in the spell.

Miniel continued on what she was doing, trying to put all her energy on her hands, and kept thinking about a plant growing. She was calmed, waiting for the plant to grow.

A little blade of grass suddenly sprouted from between Miniel's fingers and wiggled, as if wanting to grow taller.

Tylien listened to the explanation of green magic and fell asleep sitting, with its egg in its lap.

Seeing the blade of grass sprout up, Aiden looked up at Miniel and smiled, "You're doing a fine job at this, just keep focusing on the plant," He said, remembering back when he had learned this very spell.

Miniel couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the little plant. She was excited about it, and now more optimistic, seeing that what Aiden had taught her was really working. She kept focusing on that little plant, really hoping it to grow.

The blade of grass grew slowly taller, wider and firmer, though of course still at a very accelerated rate compared to normal. It still wiggled about a little but seemed quite harmless.

Al'tul entered the training area, drawn to it by having last seen Tylien in this location. Tylien was apparently sleeping, and a pair of green magic rookies were training in the sunlight. "Amateurs." he grumbled, and then plodded his way over to Tylien. His hoof beats were not meant to be silent, but he found a cozy spot near Tylien and waited patiently for its awakening. He sat with legs partially crossed and hands touching at each fingertips before closing his eyes. It was likely that the hydran woman and Ke'rehl would join them soon, but a short silence would be welcomed.

As Ke'rehl entered the area he easily found the deer. He noticed the clam around him and the person he sat next to and decided to leave them be. He went off a little ways away from the the two and flopped on the ground, taking the moment to relax and think of the upcoming battle. He found his hand gripping his sword handle and smiled.

Tylien nearly woke up to Al'tul's hooves, but not quite. The explanations about green magic counteracted the sounds quite well. It did wake up eventually, sooner rather than later, and noticed Al'tul. It gathered its egg, got up and walked over to the corrupted terran. "Hello. It took you some time to get here but fortunately I spent my time well," it said with a hidden smile. It didn't really even want to acknowledge Ke'rehl's presence.

"Hello. Surely your wait will not have been in vain." Al'tul replied and then explained his purpose, "I have need of your power. And with two others, one of which shall be my servant, we seek the Phantom Blade." Al'tul held out his hand to Tylien, "I could think of no better to join me."

Aiden looked down at the blade of grass, "Hey, it's progress. Humans can't always become mages in one day. Just keep it up, Miniel," He said. He remembered back to when he was learning his spells and knew that it would take a great of patience to learn any of these spells.

Tylien still smiled a bit behind its veil and said blankly: "Thank you." It took Al'tul's hand, though lightly, and continued: "I recall we would have gone to one of the arenas to fight against something, but it doesn't really matter what we will do."

Su'mayi walked into the room and looked up above at the sky. The warmth of sun put a frown on her face, but she decided to ignore it, and glanced around.

Ke'rehl stirred back to life after the moment of relaxation. He stood up and positioned his equipment and walked over to Al'tul, waiting to find out what he was exactly needed for.

Tylien glanced behind Al'tul and looked at both Su'mayi and Ke'rehl. It figured that Su'mayi was one of the two Al'tul had mentioned and Ke'rehl seemed to be the other, but Tylien wasn't too enthusiastic about working with a dah'kin and looked at him with some vaguely hostile curiosity.

"Think of the Dah'kin as my valet." Al'tul mentioned after noticing a planetarii's disgust in Tylien's eyes. He then replied to Tylien's earlier statement, "It is true, and that we may still do. However, times are becoming desperate, particularly for myself."

Miniel was happy to see that her little plant was growing stronger but she lost the concentration for a moment when she saw so many people coming in, specially for the first one that entered the training area. She focused again on her plant, trying to put all her energy on it.

Ke'rehl caught an odd air from the creature in-front of Al'tul, his hand crept to his Flamberge's handle. He held it tight not liking this other creature, though he figured Al'tul was not one to make ill decisions when it came to allies. There had to be some purpose for this creature to come along, and Ke'rehl would play along for now.

Miniel's plant seemed to have grown to its maximum and kept on wiggling a little, as if only having a crude hunch of what it should be doing.

Tylien still eyed Ke'rehl a bit, but didn't really end up minding him—"valet" seemed to be a very good label for him. It turned to Al'tul and went: "Where shall we start, then?" And turning to Su'mayi, asked: "Well met. I am Tylien. What is your name?"

"Likewise. The name is Su'mayi Qing.", replied Su'mayi when she noticed Tylien was speaking to her. She stepped closer to them and stood with her arms crossed in front of her.

Aiden let a light sigh and looked up from the plant all the commotion that had just started, "Well, onto a different plant? Looks like this one's about had enough. Same idea, just a different plant," He said, looking back down to the plant that Miniel had just sprouted, "Just try again, I want to see if I can coax this one into anything," and with that, he placed his palms on the ground next to the plant and tried to channel some magic into the plant.

"hmm, well it wasn't bad for my first try" said Miniel to Aiden. She rubbed her eyes, and then put her hands near the ground again, doing the same she had done before.

"We shall require supplies, the journey is likely to be long and perilous." Al'tul said, "I have powerful spells, but unfortunately not enough energy to employ them in rapid succession. So I shall at least need 3 magic potions, and given our long trip, as many healing potions would not go astray." The corrupted Terran turned then to Tylien, and asked, "You are experienced, would any other supplies be needed for such a mission?"

"Well, it depends where we are going, but I've found out it usually doesn't matter what we have. At least as long as anything really specific isn't needed." Tylien wasn't usually the one to plan that much forward, but didn't object either. "If you know it will be perilous, I recommend getting some recall pendants from the temple..."

Aiden could connect with the plant easily and if he wanted, he could make it do some things. Miniel started growing a new plant and succeeded again, but just making a plant grow wasn't going to complete the actual spell.

Looking up from his practice, Aiden turned to Miniel, "Well, we have the growth part of the entangle spell covered. Now, to make it move," He popped up from his roost and went to stand with his foot maybe an inch from the plant Miniel had just grown, "Now, concentrate again, and make the plant arc over my foot and hold it down."

Al'tul nodded at Tylien's suggestion for recall pendants, "They would certainly assist us." The corrupted terran then took out 100 GP from his stash, and handed them to Tylien, "I trust you with this in collecting said pendants." Al'tul then turned to Ke'rehl and handed him 360 GP, "3 Healing Potions, 3 Magic Potions. Make haste in this." Lastly, Al'tul looked to Su'mayi Qing, "I have yet another errand to attend to with the Smith. You can come with me."

Ke'rehl accepted the bag of gold and immediately went to carry out his task. He turned back to Al'tul and said, "I will meet you at the Smith." Ke'rehl left the training areas and proceeded to lemirian colosseum.

Su'mayi nodded to Al'tul, "I'll stay close by." She then watched as Ke'rehl left the room.

Tylien thought ah, efficiency but could not help but doubt Ke'rehl. "I hope you can trust the dah'kin. I doubt I would." Having said that, Tylien performed a little pirouette and took off into the air, flying to the temple.

With both Ke'rehl and Tylien gone, Al'tul walked towards the door, "Let's go." The corrupted Terran then exited to the Lemirian Colosseum.

Happy to finally leave the sunny room, Su'mayi Followed Al'tul out of the training area, and into the Lemirian Colosseum.

"Ok.. I already made that the plant grew... I don't think that making it move will be so difficult" said Miniel aloud, trying to give herself some hope on what she was doing. She focused on the plant, and tried to make it move.

After a few minutes of magical poking to move the plant around, it started responding to Miniel quite obediently.

"Hey, good job, You're doing pretty good at this. Just a little while longer. Now that you have this plant growing and obeying, make it wrap around my ankle," Aiden said, stepping up on the new plant that Miniel had grown.

Miniel did as Aiden told her. She focused on her plant and sis what she had already done, but this time, trying to capture Aiden's ankle.

The plant started squirming, poked Aiden's foot and then suddenly wrapped itself around his whole lower leg.

Miniel learned Entangle!

Startled, Aiden recoiled a bit as the vine suddenly wrapped around his leg then gave off a light laugh, "Hey, pretty good. I think that's sufficient for training on that spell, Was there anything else you wanted to learn. Oh, and yes, mind focusing on getting this off my legs?" He said, smiling towards Miniel.

"Hey, I finally did it!" said Miniel happily and then commanded the plant to get off Aiden's ankle. She then stood up and yawned "I think this is enough for now... maybe you could teach me another spell later.. now I want to do something else! I feel like I've been weeks on this - Let's get out of here!"

Aiden smiled to Miniel and nodded, "Yeah, good job. Maybe we could head off to the temple and have that priestess restore us of our mana and try another battle against something in one of the arenas. Well, atleast that's what I'm probably going to do if you'd like to join."

"Of course I would like.. let's go" said Miniel enthusiastically and smiled "And then we could go to the smiths perhaps, to get some equipement". Then she headed to the door to enter the lemirian colosseum.

"Alright, sounds good," Aiden said as he slung his bow tightly over his shoulder and checked his shortsword in its scabbard, "Off to the temple we go," He said as he followed Miniel out to the lemirian colosseum.

2004-09-30 [Veltzeh]: Okay, I need to go to sleep now. I actually have to pay attention in the classes tomorrow... so. XD I'll be back in 7 hours from this point.

2004-10-01 [Veltzeh]: Sheesh! And what do you know, I went to bed half an hour earlier... and *woke up* half an hour earlier!

2004-10-01 [Grengo]: Back again :0

2004-10-01 [Grengo]: Hmm.. do we need Duradhel for this? This isn't really a battle since we won't be hitting each other, but I don't know the rules too well.

2004-10-01 [Veltzeh]: I don't think we do, yet at least... He only decides when Tylien has learned the thing, if I remember right.

2004-10-01 [Grengo]: Okeedokee.

2004-10-01 [Veltzeh]: I seem to be blabbing again, but this is really weird. When I type in English, it looks more like text typed in Finnish as opposed to your typing! Either I instinctively choose words that appeal to me more or something. Or maybe it's just me. But it's weird. XD

2004-10-01 [Veltzeh]: Hey, since we're entering the tournament, we should make up a name for our team. ...Any suggestions?

2004-10-01 [Grengo]: Hmm... Team GunBlade? Team Too Tough? Team Musketeer?

2004-10-01 [Veltzeh]: GunBlade sounds the best this far. I think I'm too braindead to think of anything better at the moment. XD

2004-10-01 [Veltzeh]: [Duredhel], how does my magic training plan sound this far?

2004-10-01 [Duredhel]: sounds good ^^ lets just see how the actual training goes.

2004-10-02 [Grengo]: Since, storywise, they're in the same day that they fought originally, their payday is still 'tomorrow'. After this training, let's have the characters go about their own ways and meet up the 'day after'.

2004-10-02 [Veltzeh]: OK.

2004-10-03 [Veltzeh]: Hmm... how does the flow of time go? Do they go to sleep or something, and when do they eat? Is there any fixed time when the day changes?

2004-10-03 [Grengo]: Too many details @_@ I'm assuming we control the time, ourselves.

2004-10-03 [Veltzeh]: Heh. And where would they sleep? The logical choice would be of course to stay in the training room since others don't seem to be coming there. X-)

2004-10-03 [Sturmi]: Warrior's Quarters - Where the warriors rest and sleep in between fights.

2004-10-03 [Veltzeh]: Oh, right!

2004-10-03 [Duredhel]: In regards to eating, i will be adding a cafeteria to the arena pretty soon.

2005-02-13 [Grengo]: By 'pretty soon', d'ya mean 'never'? :p

2005-02-13 [Veltzeh]: Apparently. Heh, and I used to do looong posts...

2005-02-14 [Grengo]: I'm just making this shit up as I go XD

2005-02-14 [Veltzeh]: How do you think Tylien teaches spells it's never used before?

2005-02-14 [Veltzeh]: Heh... do we need the stats to practice blocking, or do we just freeform it through? >_>

2005-02-14 [Veltzeh]: Neat. I was wondering how it was like.

2005-02-14 [Grengo]: Hmm, hey Dur, do our last actions require rolls or can we powerplay through this?

2005-02-14 [Grengo]: Heh, apparently we could just powerplay through this (so long as it's training).

2005-02-15 [Veltzeh]: This almost counts as defending training, really... XD

2005-02-15 [Grengo]: Respond, foo'! I know you're there!

2005-02-15 [Veltzeh]: Gaaaa! Baby mods need mentors too!

2005-02-15 [Veltzeh]: Now Tylien went kind of bitter. XD ... Geez, of course I edited right after you left. I blame the baby mod.

2005-04-17 [Veltzeh]: Yea, this is going to be short. >_>

2005-04-17 [Veltzeh]: I'm all done. I poke Dûr. O_o

2005-04-17 [Duredhel]: *a storm covers the sky, from amongst the clouds, a haze of light falls on Vel and booming voice is heard all around* THOU DARE POKETH ME!?

2005-04-17 [Veltzeh]: Omgg! *unpokes*

2005-04-17 [Veltzeh]: Hey, this was yellow magic, not blue magic :O

2005-04-17 [Grengo]: Yep, but Virul has an over-active, and eccentric, imagination :p

2005-04-17 [Veltzeh]: =P I'm thinking of the kinetic energy of molecules. Go me. Gah, Dûr. don't make me poke you again >_>

2005-04-18 [Grengo]: zzZzzz

2005-04-18 [Veltzeh]: Any progress going to happen? Do I have to somehow come up with more stuff? [Duredhel]?

2005-04-18 [Duredhel]: Well in training, you've got to keep going until I post the skill or spell has been learned

2005-04-18 [Veltzeh]: Ack! I can't think of anything else I could say >_>

2005-04-18 [Duredhel]: you could make up the magic words or the hand movements he needs to make :P

2005-04-18 [Veltzeh]: Erk. Alright... That'll probably get awkward. I'm more of the "consentrate, think and happen" type. Telepathy rules =P

2005-04-18 [Veltzeh]: Ouch. >_>

2005-04-19 [Veltzeh]: Phew! XD

2005-04-19 [Veltzeh]: Lol! He forgot to use old English! XD Why do I find that so damn funny?

2005-04-19 [Grengo]: Get me a bottle of that OE!

2005-04-19 [Veltzeh]: Hey, if you want to REALLY get off, make fun of the androgyne business. XD

2005-04-19 [Grengo]: My intentions exactly :p

2005-04-19 [Veltzeh]: Haha X)

2005-04-20 [Grengo]: Hm... gonna have to reword that last one.

2005-04-20 [Veltzeh]: I just realized I forgot a few words from a post. Damnit.

2005-05-17 [Grengo]: ZzzzZZzz -_-

2005-05-17 [Duredhel]: send Troda a private message "Post bioatch!"

2005-05-17 [Grengo]: Well he hasn't been on for 30 hours (prob got school work). Still kinda' boring sitting here.

2005-05-17 [Veltzeh]: That's why I'm good to RP with XP

2005-05-17 [Grengo]: S'true >.<

2005-05-17 [Veltzeh]: I also type slightly more interesting ...er, longer things :P

2005-05-17 [trodahawk]: Im back! I'm sorry i went to a field trip... :P

2005-05-18 [Grengo]: Hm... yo Dur, d'we gotta' do some sorta' roll for this or can we make up the mock fight as we go?

2005-05-18 [Duredhel]: if its a mock fight, you can just make it up as you go

2005-11-15 [Duredhel]: Hmm... keep in mind you can't learn skills outside your skill set unless its for multiclassing (I think... I have to go over what I wrote for that)

2005-11-15 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Oh, darn you for making me think...does multi-classing have to be done on leveling up or does anytime work?

2005-11-15 [Lunnie]: Actually, according to me, youc an learn skills thata ren't in the skill list of your class with out milticlassing. Donf or example has handdle maces and thats not in the list. I also believe Zarrel had handdle exotic weapons or swords or something and he's a necromancer or something.

2005-11-15 [Jay Ladlehaus]: But was that before or after Dur made the shift?

2005-11-15 [Lepellier]: Zarrel, just recently learned how to handle Esctocs, so I think so...

2005-11-15 [Veltzeh]: Well, handle weapons is a pretty different skill, I think every character can learn any of that.

2005-11-15 [Lunnie]: I got mine before the shifts. ;P I don't know about Zarrel.

2005-11-15 [Duredhel]: Yeah all classes can learn any handle weapons as a default. What only some clases can learn are the handle swords (which means you can handle all swords)-type skills. And even in that case, Zarrel learned Estocs before the switch. Now for multiclassing, there's an explanation on the classes section.

2005-11-15 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Is there a limit to how much multi-classing one can do (i.e. more than two classes)?

Also, and what point in the training here does the trainee learn the skill from the trainer?

2005-11-15 [Duredhel]: you can get up to three classes. Aaand XD you just keep RPing and I'll post when you do.

2005-11-17 [Lunnie]: Why don't you make Razorfang's dog get the damned ball. xD

2005-11-17 [Jay Ladlehaus]: It's best to let sleeping dogs lie.

2005-11-17 [Lepellier]: especially wolves...

2005-11-18 [Lunnie]: ... -kicks Loka- >___>

2005-11-18 [Lepellier]: Hey, stay of the wolf!

2005-11-21 [J. "dragonruler" Rouse]: *Pats his head* Wolves are great..

2005-11-21 [Lepellier]: Yes they are!

2005-11-23 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Can Meridian learn Discipline?

2005-11-23 [Slade]: I'm not sure, is it on the shadowwarrior thing (is it on the shadowcat skills even)?

2005-11-23 [Jay Ladlehaus]: I don't think it is. I don't think there's anything Meridian can be taught aside from maybe using that guisarme. Razorfang, on the other hand, can learn all kinds of stuff from Oda, including finesse and discipline.

2005-11-23 [Slade]: and I doubt its possible to teach him the handle guisarme while also teaching Razorfang counterattack in a 3-way fight :D (gonna take forever)

2005-11-24 [Lepellier]: Maybe just a few more days, just depends on how nice Dur decides to be...

2005-11-27 [Slade]: haha I doubt that (it'll probably take months), but you never know >_>.

2005-12-01 [Veltzeh]: Razorfang is just slow I see... X)

2005-12-01 [Lepellier]: Slow? How do you figure that?

2005-12-01 [Veltzeh]: Mentally, I mean. Not figuring out what he's supposed to do and what not...

2005-12-01 [Lepellier]: No, Oda's just too physically quick, He's figured out what to do, he just can't hit Oda with the blasted attacks...

2005-12-01 [Veltzeh]: So it's you and not your character? Well, that makes sense too I suppose. X)

2005-12-01 [Slade]: ...harsh :P Though it would have helped if I explained this shit first

2005-12-01 [Veltzeh]: Yeah... happens to us all. Heck, I conveniently made a fool of one of my characters twice over something really simple >_>

2005-12-01 [Slade]: Most of my characters are fools to begin with, so it often works out well. Oh and to Razorfang-not a good idea to try and grab weapons, specially the pointy ends :D

2005-12-01 [Lepellier]: He wasn't grabbing the pointy end, he was grabbing behind the pointy end...

2005-12-01 [Slade]: hmmm if you say so ¬_¬

2005-12-21 [Slade]: *tumbleweed*

2005-12-26 [Lepellier]: I'm sorry if I haven't been keeping up to par on the posts, I've been away all week, so I haven't been on much.

2005-12-29 [Lepellier]: Ok, this is going around in a giant circle of counter-attacking counter attacks....

2005-12-29 [Slade]: yup...it's a tier 1 (or is that 3) skill so it'll take some time.

2005-12-29 [Veltzeh]: I don't think counter-attacks can be counter-attacked...

2005-12-29 [Lepellier]: Neither did I, so that's why I was asking/noting.

2006-01-05 [Veltzeh]: Pet action!

2006-01-06 [Lepellier]: I don't care what teir the skill is, it shouldn't take a months of Rp'ing to learn one skill...-_-

2006-08-14 [Silverbullet]: who's in charge of doing the dice rolls to see how our char is doing at learning stuff? Cause Byron and Ometla'll be on their way shortly, Byron'll be trying to learn lightning speed from Ometla ^_^

2006-08-14 [Duredhel]: Learning stuff takes a long time, you just RP and I'll let you know when you learned

2006-08-14 [Silverbullet]: oooookidokie ^^

2006-08-15 [dribilie]: yay its teaching time!!! lol

2006-08-15 [Silverbullet]: this is where we see how hard teaching temporary speed boosts is ^___^'

2006-08-16 [dribilie]: its going to be a trick^^ but it should be a good read by the end of it...hopefully

2006-08-17 [Duredhel]: Uhm.. technically Ometla is still in the training area, seeing as in Dribilie never posted her arriving on the colosseum...

2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: ...wait.. what? ^^'

2006-08-17 [Duredhel]: To get a character from one area to another, you have to post the character leaving the first area and then have to post him arriving on the next area. Dribilie never posted Ometla arriving on the colosseum, so technically she has not left the training area yet.

2006-08-17 [dribilie]: ...umm....that is a pickle...so can i just go and post that i came in before all the other stuff...i thought i did that...oh geez, ive been having a rough week, things keep slipig from my mind

2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: okay.. but what i don't get is that Ometla's last destination was the training areas (5th one to be precise).. so she wasn't trying to leave the training area to get to the colosseum: she was trying to leave the colosseum to get to the training area ^^"

Unless you mean at the very begining, as what would have been Ometla's first post, saying she arrived in the colosseum?

2006-08-17 [dribilie]: what im saying is i go back and edit my first post to say that i entered the training area

2006-08-17 [dribilie]: it says that i walked through the archway, and my post in th e arena said that i was heading here so does that count??

2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: for once, i have no idea what's going on ^^'
I'll let Durh answer :P

2006-08-17 [Duredhel]: ack, nevermind. Just keep goin'.

2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: X"D
alright ^^

2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: ...Cause if you meant Ometla's first post in the colosseum, to give her a bit of intro and stuff:
"Ometla, reaching the colosseum gates at last, searched the wandering and cheering crowds for an adversary of what would look to be her skill. As she wandered through, watching the incoming and outgoing fighters from the areanas, she found no one matching the description she was hoping for. Omleta came across the Decimean Arena, to find a young man resting in the archway. She approached the man and challenged him to a fight."
That counts as saying she entered the arena, no?

2006-08-17 [dribilie]: i think it does

2006-08-17 [Duredhel]: People! Don't dwell on the past! keep RPing XD!

2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: Haha, yes sir!

2006-08-21 [dribilie]: alrighty then^^ sounds good to me!!

2006-08-21 [Silverbullet]: How do we know if we're doing any progress or not?

2006-08-21 [Lepellier]: Dur usually posts something inbetween posting sessions

2006-08-21 [Silverbullet]: ...well....
he hasn't XD

2006-08-21 [dribilie]: i want to know if im a good teacher and your a good learner...im kind of sad now

2006-08-21 [Veltzeh]: You are doing progress! As far as I can tell, at least.

2006-08-21 [dribilie]: i thought so, but wouldnt it be nice to know just how much progress, it would make it easier too

2006-08-21 [Veltzeh]: Yeah, it would, wouldn't it? Unfortunately Dur won't tell you anything unless you whine... >_>

2006-08-21 [Silverbullet]: *whines* ...does that help? XD

2006-08-21 [Duredhel]: If you had read the previous comments you'd have realized you just have to keep RPing till I say you've learned the skill :P I usually set in by number of posts or words.

2006-08-21 [Silverbullet]: Aaaaaaah, rightie's. It's just a tiny bit (no sarcasm here, i actually mean a small amount)... umm.. lost my word i wanted to put here ^^'
What i mean is that it helps a bit to know if your chracter is turning around in circles or not. Helps with the RPing to know that too :P

2006-08-21 [Duredhel]: Well your running in circles doesn't affect any other character, your stats or the environment, so no GM post is necessary.

2006-08-21 [dribilie]: but hes learning right??

2006-08-22 [Duredhel]: Ye guys aware Byron and Ometla have the same speed rite?

2006-08-22 [Silverbullet]: Aye.. that does make a difference, cause there isn't a dice roll added to that ^^'

Means the only way Byron would suceed is by using a skill he hasn't learned yet... So either he magically learns it or it's going to be a tie?
...What about Byron's tribal necklace? I forget, but isn't Spd and Dex almost the same?

2006-08-23 [dribilie]: hmm i was the only one unaware of this, but i have lightning speed so does that make me faster??

2006-08-23 [Silverbullet]: Lightning speed is a skill you need to say Ometla's using. Plus, its effect only last one turn and you can only use it once every day for now.
"Lightning speed – Once a day for every 5 levels you may increase your speed by 50% during one turn. Cannot be used with heavy armor."

2006-08-23 [dribilie]: hmmm....idk...we'll figure something out im sure

2006-08-25 [Silverbullet]: eh... my turn... ^^'

2006-08-26 [dribilie]: yay we did it!!

2007-06-07 [Veltzeh]: Now I wonder whether I can or should speed-teach when using my PC to do it... X)

2007-06-08 [Adaman]: Excellent, scrolling through all that material was a pain. Good work Veltz.

2007-06-08 [Veltzeh]: Whee. Now, what's your take on the speed-teaching? Can/should I do it?

2007-06-08 [Adaman]: Al'tul is 3 times the level and +1 higher intelligence than Aj'ale, I think in cases like that speed teaching should be an option.

2007-06-08 [Duredhel]: Nah, speed teaching isn't an option with PCs

2007-06-08 [Adaman]: Argh, the Dur hath spotted.

2007-06-08 [Veltzeh]: That's exactly what I was wondering.

2007-06-10 [Sturmi]: Al'tul needs to learn a spell as well...

2007-06-16 [Veltzeh]: Labido?

2007-06-17 [Adaman]: The sex drive, controls reactions between genders. Whether attracted or unattracted, in this case unattracted.

2007-06-17 [Silverbullet]: You mean libido.

2007-06-17 [Adaman]: *shrug* The point is, I know what I'm talking about.

2007-06-26 [Veltzeh]: Oops. this page must've dropped from my list when my browser last crashed. >_>

2007-06-26 [Veltzeh]: Ooh, Aj'ale actually snatched the ball Al'tul was focusing on.

2007-06-26 [Adaman]: Okay, Al'tul is still focusing on that one then.

2007-06-26 [Adaman]: Okay, Al'tul is still focusing on that one then. I think you should have rolled for stealing his magic ball of water first though.

2007-06-26 [Veltzeh]: What, does something make you think I didn't?

2007-06-27 [Duredhel]: There wasn't a GM post. O,o

2007-06-27 [Veltzeh]: Since when have there been GM posts in training sessions?

2007-06-27 [Sturmi]: look at the history page...

2007-06-27 [Veltzeh]: Whoa, there are some. When I did it, there were no posts except for when we finally learned the stuff...

2007-06-27 [Adaman]: Heh, wow. I'm right?

2007-06-27 [Veltzeh]: I don't know. Should it be done the way it was done with me or the way it was done with other people?
Bah, I'm the GM anyway. >_> Now post a final piece and Al'tul'll have learned the magic part! Then it's just a little bit of the spell.

2007-09-13 [Veltzeh]: You know what's funny? Tylien's MAG was so high that it learned those automatically. X)

2007-10-19 [Lepellier]: Waiting on a GM post, possibly.

2007-10-20 [Veltzeh]: Um, that learning happened quite too easily. But I don't really care. X)

2007-10-20 [Sturmi]: well I thought this teaching has taken like a month or so, it should be sped up a bit  >_<

2007-10-21 [Veltzeh]: 2 and a half weeks. :)

2007-10-22 [Leita]: but it took too long for Aiden to learn white magic... so, i think it'a fair :P

2007-10-24 [Veltzeh]: Well, maybe so, but you technically should have written more. X)

2007-10-24 [Lepellier]: Shhh...We're evening things out. ^_~ Anyhow, sorry there, Vel.

2007-10-26 [Silverbullet]: Aiden's a mindreader! :O

2007-10-26 [Lepellier]: He's been through similar training.

2007-10-26 [Silverbullet]: Good thinking ^^

2007-10-26 [Lepellier]: See, I is smrt. (Yes, completely intentional.)

2007-10-26 [Silverbullet]: Aha! Typo! It is 'strm'! Bwahaha! I rlz

2007-10-26 [Lepellier]: You don't watch enough Simpsons.

2007-10-26 [Silverbullet]: Indeed I do not. Familly Guy be much better ^___^

2007-10-26 [Lepellier]: This be true, grasshopper.

2007-10-26 [Silverbullet]: Nyehehehehehhe ^.^

2007-10-26 [Adaman]: Neither are spectacular in my opinion, just the same jokes in repetitive mannerisms with a vague storyline connecting it together.

2007-10-26 [Duredhel]: Kinda like RoL :3

2007-11-18 [Veltzeh]: Damn, you've been waiting for a GM post, haven't you? You could have just decided what happened, really.

2007-11-18 [Lepellier]: hah, good show, Vel.

2007-12-01 [Veltzeh]: You're not taking the hint, are you? :P

2007-12-01 [Grengo]: Sun or water? <_>

2007-12-02 [Lepellier]: Well, wasn't appearantly...I don't know, it's generally good to have a good base to go off from.

2007-12-17 [Veltzeh]: The genitive form of it is its.

2007-12-17 [Lepellier]: Yes, mr. english teacher. :) anyway, I'll go fix it...

2007-12-17 [Veltzeh]: :) ...omg did you assign a gender to me? Bad!

2007-12-17 [Lepellier]: Sorry Vel, I couldn't think of an appropriate word to use without using your pronouns. I just couldn't think of an non-gender-specific word. :)

2007-12-17 [Sturmi]: yeah there is no neutral form of "mister" or "misses".

2007-12-17 [Veltzeh]: How about M. or Mre., short for mystery or whatever? :P Still, you should call me doctor or professor! XD

2007-12-17 [Silverbullet]: 'You English Teacher Person You' would work too, no? :D

2007-12-17 [Veltzeh]: Yep.
